Haak Vineyards & Winery Wins Multiple Awards at San Antonio Wine Competition

Santa Fe, Texas – March 16, 2011 – Haak Vineyards & Winery Wins Multiple Awards at San Antonio Wine Competition.

Haak Vineyards & Winery took home multiple awards at the 2011 San Antonio Wine Competition that was held on January 29, 2011, a competition featuring both national and international wines. Participating alongside more than 300 wines from around the world, Haak Winery earned four awards for a variety of their locally-made wines. Overall, 16 gold medals were awarded — four of those medals went to Texas wines. Haak took home gold for their 2006 Jacquez Madeira, along with two silvers and a bronze:

"Having our new winemaker, Nadia Hetzel, on board this year has pushed our winemaking team to continue to improve," said founder and winemaker Raymond Haak. "This motivation has resulted in some amazing award-winning wines. We couldn't be more proud."

The San Antonio Wine Competition is an unprecedented wine judging competition in its eleventh year. The goals are to identify the finest wines ranging from various regions and inform the public of the notable wineries and their products. At the conclusion of the competition, the gold medal winners are judged head-to-head to choose the best red and the best white in the 2011 competition.
