Raymond and Gladys Haak were born and raised in South Texas . 
Raymond was born in Galveston , Texas and Gladys in Alvin , Texas . 

Raymond Haak is an Electrical Engineering graduate of the University of Houston .  Gladys has extensive training and experience in Accounting and business management.

Raymond began growing grapes in 1969 as a hobby.  He experimented with numerous grape varietals to determine which varieties would survive the climatic conditions along the Gulf Coast of Texas. 

After more than 25 years, Raymond & Gladys decided to turn their wine & grape growing passion into a commercial operation.  They planted 3 acres of winegrapes and a few years later designed and built a modern, Mediterranean style facility which reflects the winery’s mission statement of offering “A Taste of the Old World in Galveston County ”. 

The winery consists of over 11,000 square feet, including an 1800 sq. ft. cellar, which is used for storing & aging wines in Oak Barrels.

The winery is a destination winery and has grown into a major tourist attraction in Santa Fe , Texas and Galveston County .
