Red Wines

2008 Malbec

This 2008 Malbec is another perfect example of the lush inky style we all look for in this variety. Bright aromatics of ripe berries and sweet violets are laced all the way through to the finish with a web of complex spices. We have added just enough oak to entice the full bodied aromas to the front of the palate. This is one of those beauties you don’t want to miss out on when you try our selection of fabulous red wines. Please be sure to try it when you come visit our winery.

2005 Syrah

This Texas Syrah is brilliant in color, and aromatic to the nose. A balanced wine, it exhibits dark fruit flavors like currants, plums and blackberry. It has a hint of wet earth and leather on the delicate finish. This is a dry wine that was aged on new American Oak barrels to improve its aging potential and add toasted oak and soft tannins to its overall flavor profile.

2007 Tempranillo

This Texas Tempranillo shows its Spanish roots with its deep, velvety color. It exhibits aromas of blueberries, dark chocolate and a hint of jalapeno and an oak finish. A full-bodied dry wine, this Tempranillo is equally great with food or on its own.

2007 Cabernet Sauvignon

This premium, dry red wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in the High Plains Viticulture Area. This Cabernet exhibits flavors of plum, black cherry and spice with hints of herbs, tobacco and cedar. Oak aging has added a toasty cedar finish with smooth tannins making this wine a nice complement for grilled meats, wild game, prime rib, and hearty stews.

2005 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

A dry wine, our 2005 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was made from grapes of the same name. After crushing, the must was inoculated with cultured yeast and fermented on their skins for an extended period to maximize flavor and color extraction. After pressing, the wine was aged in new oak for more than 16 months to add aging potential and complex flavors from the toasted oak and tannin extracted from the barrels. This wine exhibits a full-bodied mouthfeel with aromas of dark fruit like blackberries, cherries and plums with a hint of toasted almonds and walnuts.

Tres Tintos NV

Tres Tintos is the union of three Mediterranean grape varietals: Tinta Cão, Touriga Nacional and Bastardo. This marriage has produced a harmonious, supple wine that is elegantly structured. It exhibits characteristics of black cherry and mulberry discreetly blended, and has a dry, spicy, lingering finish. Made with the care and tradition of Mediterranean style winemaking, Tres Tintos is truly “A Taste of the Old World” made in Texas.
